Bought an electric trolley recently but went for lead acid as it was a good deal but im looking at Lithium batteries. The lead acid is going to struggle to do 18 i think as some courses i play have some steepish hills to climb on the back 9. So is a 16amp/18amp lithium that much more powerful than a 22amp lead acid?

I bought a 36 hole lithium battery last April from Liberty Batteries for £180 (http://www.libertybatteries.com), it's been a top performer so far, 36 holes with no issues, whether that be playing 2x18 or 4x9, no need to charge until 36 played. I bought this to replace a lead acid which was less than a year old - my Motocaddy S1 would run up hill at a snails pace with the lead battery but positively runs uphill with the lithium.

I changed to a lithium in my Motocaddy last year, I bought an 18 hole lithium altho' I am sure it would do 36 holes around my course which whilst not hilly does go up and down a good bit. the other plus point to lithium is the weight, so much easier to handle. The trolley doesn't seem to be any faster but I don't want to be chasing it anyway.

Got a 36 hole lithium with my new motokaddy M3pro this time last year. No probs with it at all, still going strong after 36, very light and charges within 3 hours.

Thanks for the web site address, prices are very good for a lithium battery.

Had great service from Tracy at Liberty. I'm guessing a small company as phone always goes to answerphone, but she always calls back soon after. A lot of good info from here re: charging etc. Haven't been able to fault them yet, and had no need to action the warranty for any issues either.

Thanks for the replies. I notice that Liberty are doing a deal on a 27 hole version so may take the plunge.
My existing lithium battery has just become extinct - so looked at the Liberty prices and have got a 36 lithium for £158. Bargain if they are as good as suggested.

I can only comment on my own experience, especially since it was probably me that first mentioned them on here. Tracy was the person I spoke to at Liberty before purchase, very helpful, answered a lot of questions, good customer experience. My battery is a year old, had no issues to date, so no experience of after sales service as yet.

I bought mine from Golfworkshop in the end. 27 hole 22amp version for £135 inc delivery. Did nearly 9000Yds sunday and still showed full. I messed up the address when i ordered and the lady on the phone was brilliant and sorted in no time. Emailed them out of hours on a friday evening with a query and was answered within the hour.

One point to make Hallsy, I don't take much notice of the power meter. Lithium batteries run down very quickly so even though it still showed full, it may only have a couple of holes left in it.

I'm not going to hold anyone to an opinion - but it was encouraging to hear positive things about a product/company I wasn't familiar with.

But good things so far - placed the order early this a.m. and am already told it's arriving tomorrow. If it gets my trolley round 36 holes on one charge, then I'm happy - especially for only 158 notes.

I play on Mid-Am Tour where it's 36 holes a day. Lithium sails through & can do 40+ if required. It's lightweight & charges quickly. Think Motocaddy are doing a trade-in deal right now so worth trading any old Lead battery in & getting £25 off your new Lithium battery.

Does the price include a Lithium charger ?.
