Anyone been golfing here and if so what courses should you play and more importantly where do you stay for nightlife?

Is Cascais any good for nightlife, not sure we would fancy driving in and oot of Lisbon itself so I think that rules the city break out!

Prices?? Much the same as the rip off that is now the Algarve?3.50 Euro a jar??

It would be June next year if we went so fire away chaps.....

I've been to cascais and there's a lovely golf course calle Quinta Da Marinha. Fabulous hotel but not close to the town which is about 5 km. Cascais is good for restaurants but not much in terms of clubs etc. Estoril which is 3km down the coast has Europes largest casino there. Prices are around 3 euros a pint.

Another one near there is about 15 minutes away called Pestana Sintra Resort and spa. In the middle of an upmarket estate. Both the course and hotel are great.

Have fun.

Cascais and Estoril are nice towns with decent pubs & restaurants. Prai D'el Rey very nice and Aeroera (bad spelling!) was very good and exceptional value - played both courses, number 2 the best but both very strong. The one by the race track - can't think the name - with the hotel, very hilly, was also good. Thought Quinta do Peru overrated. Drinks were not cheap and someone told me that the lap dancing club was on the steep side! :o

Areoira has 2 courses, and is a nice pine tree lined place. The toughest course around is easily Troia, a linksy course on a peninsula south of that area, reachable by a short ferry. Worth it if you like links and a tough course.

A couple of other courses in the Cascais/Sintra areas are Oitavos and Penha Longa. Both have been used by the European tour for events in recent years.
You need a buggy at Penha Longa as it is true mountain goat territory :)

Agree with the comments above. I have played these courses and they are excellent. Am going there in April myself too.

There are dodgy places for a bit of nightime sport to be found too if you have a nose for these things....
