hi guys

lately ive been playing a lot of links golf, always amazes me how good condition the place is after a nights rain, anyways i have noticed i play slightly better golf when on links than parkland, on average looking at all my cards (yes im sad i keep them all) i shoot consistent 90's and the odd high 80 compared to when i play parkland i struggle to keep it in the 90s and usually lots of low 100's is this just me or does anyone else think their game is better on the links??

cheers

Another who is miles from a links course so rarely play there. I enjoy the challenge but my scores suffer because of my lack of exposure. There again I'm capable of chopping it around any type of course

Thoroughly enjoy links golf, tight lies, fast greens, lots of run, fantastic bunkers, great views and a good blow ooeerr missus! whats not to love about links.

it could be argued that there has been no 'links golf' since May this year in the UK :)

personally I really appreciate a good links course, a good heathland course or a good parkland course - good is the operative word not links heathland or parkland.

Haha great thread, and yes I also seem to play better on links.
My home course is a tight parkland, and my short game is loads better than my driving

I'm a bit of a 'stato' and my GIR is better on links courses.... Must be some reasoning behind it?

I would say that goes against the grain. I think links greens are usually harder to hit due to being firm and undulating although often easier to get up and down as you can use the putter.

Yeah I here what you're saying but you soon learn not to play the yardage to the pin.
Often you're aiming to pitch the ball quite a bit in front of the green.

My point is I enjoy having a shot into the green more often than not :)

Except most of the fife courses this year.... The rough was just sillly

I like playing golf on any course, it's what makes it a great game. I dont get the opportunity to play much Links, play a lot of Parkland and Heathland but I love them all.
