Links courses - another ranking list

Played 14 of that list.. Interesting to see Southerness down near the bottom.. A real tester of a course and one of the "truest" links you can play. Good to see West Lancs and S&A place so well.. 2 very different courses and hugely enjoyable for that reason... Murcar should be higher though

My personal favourites played so far are Birkdale, Hillside, North Berwick & St Enodoc.

I also really enjoyed the 36 holes at Ballybunion, anyone visiting should definitely include the Cashen course, its great fun.

Of all the links courses I have played, the only one where I felt disappointed was Trevose, apart from the first few holes, I didn't particularly rate it.

Totally agree with the Murcar sentiment. Top 20 at least...cough... I've not played S&A yet and must do it soon.

I wish they didn't bother with these so much down to personal opinion.

Some courses are rated far too highly!

North Berwick is never a better course than Royal Troon of the ones I have played.

As already pointed out Southerness should surely be higher.

I've played 25 of these. Good list, like everyone I'd swap the order around a bit of the ones I know. Western Gailes, as always, too high!

Must say not on the list is Portmadog ! One of the best scenic links courses I have ever played

I've played 10 of them. HID has played 11. Surprised SAOL isn't on the list. Mind you I've still not played there even though it's only down the road.

Only five for me but soon to be six with West Lancs coming up in the next few weeks.

Managed 15 of them to date, but so many good courses still to go. At 4 a year that's over 20 years... I'm gonna have to up the hit rate, or have people wheel me round in bath chair. Looks like I better put together a priority list.

Played 9. Playing sandy hills rossapenna on Saturday. been 7 years or so since I've played it. Blanked 4 in a row from the tee. Lost drives and provisional balls. BRUTAL rough. I was completely rubbish back then. Can't wait to have another crack at it.

Played Enniscrone and Carne and preferred them both to St. Andrews. Just thought that some of holes were memorable, very memorable.
