And so winter is beginning as I type, a couple of centimetres of the white stuff lying on the ground as I type and it doesn't look like letting up either.

Oh how I love living in Cornwall. In 24 years of living here the longest we have had snow lay on the ground is a week and that was only 2 years ago. Prior to that and since then we have only had snow lay for a few hours to a day at most.

I want snow. Lots and lots of snow. Loads of the stuff, settled for weeks.

Snowball fights. Snowmen. Sledging. Pratting around on my Yamaha WR400. Towing the kids around on a big 4-seater sledge while I drive a quad around my friends field. Me snowboarding behind said quad while my friend drives (imagine water skiing, without the water). Tracking the pad and slot marks of wildlife with my kids.

I appreciate it's not for everyone. Slippery roads, unable to get food etc., little or no heating - but I love the stuff. :D

I'm more worried about 1300 school weans the morra! It could be like a scene fae Oor Wullie with PC Murdoch!

Holy crud! I'm married to one of you lot and she talks in tongues all the blinking time but that makes sod all sense! I get the 1300 school CHILREN TOMORROW but after that it's gobbledygook. Talk proper you freaking loon!

When is post of the year being voted for? I think we have a contender :p

Can't believe no-one's mentioned the overnight blizzards in the south today. Woke up to at least 1cm in Herts.

Gutted, as was down to play this afternoon, and although it's supposed to melt, I doubt anywhere will open up after 11 or so.

Snow here - not a lot but enough to make driving on the back roads tricky so I'm staying home! Course is open on temps and a yellow ball recommended!!
