When I play with those with older trolleys, without this feature, it just reminds me how useful it is.
When approaching the green, I can send the trolley to the back of the green, while I myself walk to my ball to putt out. And when finished, I can walk off the back of the green, and on to the next tee. This saves time. I wouldn't call it lazy, more conveniant.
Otherwise you park it at the front, and have to go back for it, or, you take it to the back first and then walk back. This is slow.
I am not sure where 'lazy' comes into it.
I have not mentioned in this thread what trolley I have either, as the OP was about function, not make.
