I'm getting around an hour if lucky on a full charge after 3 years with my Dell battery, anyone recommend the best (read as cheapest) place to get another one from?

Ebay, Bought a netbook for the wee boys crimbo last year and within 2 months he stood on it and cracked the screen, went on to ebay and got a new screen for £30 and went to YouTube to see how to replace it. Sorted.

Ive used these people several times without any problems

they are based in Salisbury

If you go direct to Dell, a battery will cost you about £100
If you go to Ebay, you are likely to get a rubbish Chinese copy for as little as £15-£20

These guys are in the middle at about £35-£45 depending on model

Very sweeping statement. I can guarantee I can go onto ebay and get a full genuine Dell battery for the same price.

I recently bought a genuine Macbook pro battery for £30 cheaper than anywhere else online.

If you look at the ebay shops for laptop batteries 90% of them are hotmail, paypal only, based in china set ups

Of course there are exceptions, but you try sending something back to china for a refund

I suggest that at least you use a UK based setup, Im not saying dont use ebay, just saying that you need to exercise care and if it is a really cheap price, ask yourself how come?

Common sense prevails then?
Buy from UK store/seller and buy a genuine battery.

I always click the UK only box.

I would skip eBay as it can be hit or a miss. Amazon probably would be a better choice, else go with Fragger's recommendation (nothing like a recommended fella)

Just brought a battery from the website recommended by fragger. Hopefully no problems and seemed a good price.
