Lady Golfers

I've only ever had positive experiences of playing with lady golfers however the only time I have ever had a problem with a group refusing to let me through at my course was a four ball of elderly women... but I don't hold this against other women.

As a single woman golfer I have noticed the most arguments in Mixed comps are between husband and wives, because where you might hold your tongue if it is a stranger, couples say things that they wished they could take back. A draw for partners in mixed is great.

I couldn't agree more, Being a female golfer I thoroughly enjoy our mixed comps, we have quite a lot of these throughout the year both interclub and at other clubs. betterball is my preferred format but greensomes is great when you have novice golfers taking part and the course is quiet.
I don't know about other clubs but we always have a really good uptake when there are mixed comps on to the point we sometimes need to find extra ladies cos the guys are queuing up.
Bobmac, Congrats to your girlfriend on her appointment, I was ladies captain for 2 terms and thoroughly enjoyed, hard work but fun.

I'm always keen to play mixed games....I enjoy losing to girls.... :)...apart from HID.

We have some good lasses at ours. There's only one 4 ball to avoid....

I always liked playing in the mixed compys. Don't get to these days - I don't play as many mens compys as I'd like!

Had a mixed doubles partner who was deadly with a 9 iron from about 30 yards. 90% of the time she'd chip it stone dead. Rest of her game was rubbish but what a chipper!

Hi Barb

Nice to hear from another lady on the forum. What club do you play at? Many moons ago Dad was at Brize Norton and played at Burford. Unfortunately I had not taken the game up then.

I am playing my first mixed of the year tommorow and all the greens are open so it will be very interesting after the short winter course. I am looking forward to getting out and playing proper golf :)
