Ladies Golf

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Going to get my favourite playing partner read some of the comments on this thread as it will make her laugh over them, cheered me up today thanks.:D

My wife does not hit the ball very long, say 140-150 yards on a good drive in summer, so What. Yes that means that on most par 4s it takes her 3 or 4 to get to the green. So what, it doesn't make her slower to play a round of golf weirdly, as she plays shots when I would be waiting, as the group in front are always out of range for her.;) At the weekend I/son played with a couple and the lady concerned could hit a pretty long ball(probably just under or around 200 at a guess).

Really it is no different to the mens game, get over it, some people are short, some long, some good short games, some cant putt, some can drive and so on. What can you do and what can you not do.

The beauty with golf is that it is a game you can play against anyone, they can be worse or better than you, and still have a game due to the handicap system.

so not sure why you picked my post for the million rofls!

Oh sorry didn't mean to offend or anything by it, just when I saw your post I was thinking the same reaction and was laughing, whoops sorry if it read any other way.:o

Golf is a game for everyone, simples, no matter your age, gender, ability, orientation, race, faith, handicap or combination of these.
This is the "official" view of GM and the GM Forum

as long as everyone follows the rules, etiquette and spirit of the game and enjoys themselves then everyone is happy

Does it matter that certain lady players arent as long off the tee as someone thought they might? No it matters not a jot,

Think The OP may have some egg running down his chin, which he might want to clean up

I share a house with a lady, she plays a bit of golf now and again. She played on Tuesday at Parkstone, shot 4 under par

I think the OP is taking unnecessary flak for some later comments by other posters. (I am happy to see the flak as being in lieu of the 'jacked lofts' discussion on the PW thread though :D).

I read the first post as being "are the red tees too long for some women golfers to enjoy playing" in the same way that we'd get fed up if we played 7,000+ every week.

IanM; I agree with the other point.... Played 3 rounds with my wife in Cornwall last week... on many holes the [I said:
Reds[/I] were only 30 yards in front of the Yellow Tees... not really enough of a fair head start at any handicap level.

Are the red tees supposed to be in front of the yellow tees? I always assumed that but when I played at Woolton GC the other day there were at least half a dozen tees where the reds were a good distance behind the yellows.

Could be that these were par 5's for the ladies/ par4 for the men without seeing the card its hard to comment, it could also just have been a cock up by the greens staff

i read it that way too, but he also said he expected to see some good golf as it was an open, ive only questioned why he thought that.
as for getting fed up playing a 7000 yard plus course, of course we would and in that case my handicap would be higher.. which just about demonstrates why Womens handicaps are higher than mens on average

I was thinking similar

Either the quote button is knackered or they just enjoy
a bit of 'Del Bashing'

Same thoughts I had re: Delc's post.

Regarding the handicaps, wouldn't SSS be higher though on a longer course, thus handicaps staying the same/similar?

Another vote for the OP. I just read it that he made a simple observation and was a bit surprised at the results.

Only one was a par 5 compared to a par 4 for the men and that was a good 40 yards behind. The others were all the same as the mens. I did ask one of our group who is a member but he didn't seem to know.

Yea I read the OP as the same, think there is only one poster degrading women's golf and it's not Delc, IMO some seem to enjoy jumping on the bandwagon just to try and belittle him.

Childish.

I suspect that Del was on a bit of a fishing trip with the OP. Even he would've been surprised by how easily the bait was taken :D
