Sorry if this has already been done but haven't been reading the forum much over the last few days.

Level 66s over a course that was 7600yds long!!!!!

This early in the year and already I think we've seen a tournament performance that is unlikely to be bettered. Ok, the weather couldn't have been better for good scoring but still what a score!!! Totally in awe of what he did last week, surely destination #1 for him.

P.S that's 42 points each day without a blob :D

Yes, great performance. I suppose its what you would call true German efficiency. I watched bits of it and saw Mark Roe talking about the course , how long it was and that how Kaymer was going to shoot under the score he won it last time.
He was also asked how a handicap golfer would do. He says a 10 Handicapper would struggle to get around under 90. Mark Roe has obviously not seen the distances some of the 20+ handicap guys on here can hit the ball.
:D :D :D

He has the potential to be a mini-Tiger. By that I mean dominating GOlf for the forseeable future. Not in the way Tiger did - I think those days are past, but Kaymer has it all at his feet.
Number 1 next time he plays or maybe the time after and he'll be there for a long time. Especially the way Westwood played last week - very average.

I think Kaymer will definitely be No1 soon (as will McIlroy) but Westwood will be there for a little while longer. He said straightaway at the start of the week that he didn't like the course (didn't fit his eye, is what he said), should be a fascinating battle over the Season

I was dissapointed in Westwood , he's feckin world number one and all I heard from the commentators was that he said the course didnt suit his eye ..... errrr hang on a min, your the best player in the world, surely you can hit the ball straight(ish) most of the time ??? I hope Billy Foster gave him a shoeing, he'd lost the event before it had started.

The thing that most impressed me was the fact he only had one bogey all week. On that length and hardness of course it was a truly outstanding performance

And that was because of a rogue shank.

haha i'd forgotten his shank , he did have a little chuckle about it in one of his interviews though

I agree hes destined for no1.
He looks to have the game to dominate for years to come. The new youngsters coming through have realised they need to take there games to the next level just to be able to compete week in week out.

Won the major early so never had that hanging over him like Westwood and Monty. So agree that he probably has at least 6 majors - might have a flutter on him for the Masters.
