Just watched the Airbus A380 take off....

Perhaps the most memorable plane incident type of thing I recall is when I was at Download Festival 2009/ During Def Leppard's headline set on the Sunday the massive (but not the biggest) Antonov 124 started to launch from East Midlands Airport. It was quite surreal what with Joe Elliot pointing it out and 80000 or so people turning to watch the bloody thing take off.

As for rotary aircraft I've always favoured the Chinook probably for their distinctive whump-whump sound. I've been lucky enough to see a few at reasonably close quarters just in general flight. It's one of those sounds that gives me a chill when I hear it. I'm just like a little kid really.

you want to do contour flying in a chinook.... awesome doesnt even come close :)

the US Galaxy transport plane is huuuuuuuuuuuuge, saw one in Riyadh (with a few A10's and Apache's) we were in awe of the US stuff. Last plane I flew on was a Hercules, no comment on that thing lol.

I saw a Galaxy side by side with a tri star out in Ascension and couldn't believe it's size, huuuuge is an understatement.
