I'm going along to pick up my Skycaddie SG2.5 from American Golf tomorrow afternoon. Does anyone have one of these?

How long does it take to fully charge?

I've read that it's good for 2 rounds before needing recharged.

Any tips?

Thanks

I bought one just before Xmas from American Golf £159,only used it a few times but it seems an excellent bit of kit,The ball marking feature is good, and will be good for practice, but due to the weather, temp greens etc etc I have not had full use of the Skycaddie, but hopefully this weekend will see it working to is full potential,Charging only takes a couple of hrs,I reckon once fully charged it will do 2 rounds easily.

have have got the same and have found it a great bit of kit
due to weather and on temp not had much chance to use it
is good to see the yardage around the course it will suprise you at times

Yeh, got the 2.5 lite model(thats the tight git scottish version)and the first time I used it was at Dunbar east links and I hit all three blind greens. It's so simple you'll love it.

That's strange !

i'm Scottish too, but I'm getting the non-lite version. It must be you

Thanks to you all for the feedback

Lithium batteries can and do get whats called charging memory.. Make sure you give it the full charge as recommended by the maker. Once used try to run it down before giving it a full cahrge for at least 10 rounds. You should have no problems getting two rounds from it after then and for a long time.

Oooooooooo "I'm getting the non light version"......Yeh it's me. TBH all I want is yardage and this wee gem does the business and more.

Hi There,

Just thought I would chuck my twopence in.

1. I owned a Skycaddie SG2 and liked it. Downsides were subscriptions, linking up to pc and adding courses.

2. I then bought an iphone app which worked just as well but also recorded scores and stats. Trouble was that this drained the battery.

3. I have a friend who plays on tour and he used one of those bushnell range finders and swears by them. It brilliant. His caddie said that those gps units can be out by up to 10 yards either way depending on what satellite that are tapped into. The range finders are simple point and shoot affairs and as long as you can keep fairly steady with your hand its very accurate especially the Tour V2 with pinseeker.

P.s. For a tip I bought mine online at AG and got it for £179...oh yeah !!! using the price match feature...Full £50 discount..

Do some research

And as long as you can see the pin/bunker/ditch/ etc etc etc

Not dismissing them but I prefer the SC 2.5. I can keep it in my pocket - not in a pouch, It takes me 3 seconds to glance a the middle of the green distance and I don't need a steady hand.
