Joining my 1st Private Golf Club

Looks good to me. Do they know you will probably be moving in lock stock as it is soooo close to home. I think £840 offers good value for money for what you are getting. A good course designed by a great designer, a great looking clubhouse etc. All in all I'd say money well spent

HTL - where are you moving to?? PM me

Looks very nice Jon. I take it you've played it already and you already know some existing members? Always helkps to know someone on the inside. Show you the ropes and all that.

Yes J_F, just over £300 for Carnoustie, but that's just the green fees though. That get paid to the Links Commitee. You then have to pick a club (not mandatory) I'm here...http://www.carnoustiegolfclub.com/

We also have The Caledonia Club,The New Taymouth Club, The Dalhousie Club and not forgetting the Ladies, The carnoustie Ladies Club.
I think I'm right in saying that this practice is particular to the North east of Scotland?

I would join Wentworth but my helicopter pilot is just about to go on maternity leave making a long drive for a game. Perhaps next year.

Cheers Smudge, apart from location it is the course and its condition that attracted me.

It is a shortish course but it is very very tight, the fairways are narrow with well placed hazzards, the greens are small and there are plenty of trees.

On a difficult course I can only get better as a player and learn good course-management skills.

I know you cant just smash it and still be able to go for the green which ever fairway you land on like you can at upchurch!!!!

I have played both but not gillingham in a while, but as junior says a test for every club and your ball finding skills!!!
