Afternoon all.

Apologies in advance for what may well be a stupid question. :o

In addition to my 'Limited Play' membership at Swanston, I've decided to join Gifford Golf Club which is a lovely 9 hole parkland track in East Lothian, just for a bit of variety and also because it's only a £300 joining fee and £190 a year in Subs!! Given that Swanston will be my 'home course', how do I go about submitting cards from Gifford for handicap purposes? Is it the case that Swanston will administer my handicap and I'll have to fill in, for example, two cards when playing at Gifford, then handing one of the two in to Swanston for handicap maintenance?

I'm confused............. :D

It's your job to make sure your home club has all your away scores. You can't rely on away clubs to do this for you, some do some dont.
You dont need to copy a whole card, all the home club needs is
-name of comp
-date of comp
-Par
-CSS
-Your stableford adjusted gross score (max nett double bogey).

Your home club should have sheets to fill for away scores that you return to the Match and Handicap.

Ask your home club match and handicap if in doubt.

Derek, as good a nine hole course as you'll get is Gifford. The good thing Gifford puts it's scores into HowdiIdo, so all the scores, css and all that are there to be seen. Even if you click on your name after each comp it will show a copy of your score card. Have a word with one of the comp committee at Swanston (I thought about joining there) and he'll let you know what will be best for them, but the above answer is about right. I keep records of all my scores at both my clubs as your HC can go up and down quite fast if you play weekends and midweek. I can and have played as many as 5 medals in 8 days.
