Hi all,

I'm reposting the offer in case some newbies didn't see the first one, or if others have changed their mind!

Viscount17 and I are playing the Bracken at 11am on Sat 10th March, £39 for 18 holes. There's fourballs in front of us, so we'd love another 1 or 2 to join up.

Just need a £20 deposit and you're in.

Come on, what are you waiting for?

Cheers,
Bratty

Just Bratty and me to enjoy the splendid weather yesterday as a two-ball amongst all the fours.
No point in rushing so we took our time in the welcome sunshine, though it did get a little chilly at times when the wind came up.
The golf was 'interesting and varied', with everything from birdie to 'I need to both hands to score this!' but thoroughly enjoyed the course. I managed to visit six of the many bunkers (two on one hole and only failed to get out first time once), Bratty just one.
Some cracking tee shots (mostly) from both us, and a pretty fair collection of recovery shots when they weren't.
Greens were a little on the slower side - lucky for us with all the humps, bumps and borrows; i don't think either of us ever saw a straight putt.

Huge thanks to Bratty (and his other half) for making this most enjoyable day possible.

That's a fair summation of the day, Viscount.

I really liked the Bracken, overall. Some lovely bits, some "fiddly" bits (which detracted slightly) and some downright difficult bits! The greens were very tricky in terms of undulations, but ran true and fair.

We were off the yellows, which while not perfect, was understandadble and not a massive problem either. Until we realised that some were more or less off the reds, and that made calculating distances a bit tricky and of course, bunkers and hazards came into play that really shouldn't have.

Overall, though, the weather was great, the company was great and the value for money was great.

Viscount, no thanks needed, sir. Thoroughly enjoyed the round, and I'm sure we'll play again soon.
