All,

As you may (:D) or may not know, my parents run a hotel in Woodhall Spa, which sits (quite literally) on the golf course. It's currently under going a £2million refurb and extension which will be finished at the end of March.

Spoke to my dearest mother last night and managed to persuade her to organise a "golf monthly" rate for those wanting to go up to Woodhall and play golf.

The hotel itself isn't "linked" with the golf club as the other two hotels in the village pay obscene amounts of money to the golf club for the right to be linked as "recommended" accommodation. The fact of the matter is, the EGU books all their employees and visitors into the Dower House whenever they're up in Woodhall.

The only thing this will mean is that you'll have to book the accommodation and golf separately but I can assure you that you won't find a better hotel in the village and one in such a good location.

Cynics amongst you (you know who you are :D - this is not the case. Increased business would obviously be great, but in all honesty, I'm just looking to get guys from the forum the best possible experience from both the golf course and their accommodation. It's 4+ star quality in a country house hotel.

If anyone is interested, let me know, and I can give you a unique code to quote when booking.

The website is located at www.dowerhousehotel.co.uk It's currently under going a redevelop and will be launched alongside the newly completed renovations so you can see if it floats ye boat.

Mods - feel free to make this a sticky, as this is open to anyone from the forum who is looking to go up there, whether it be as a 2 ball, 4 ball or group.

Well Aztecs, I am not a cynic and I one day hope to play there and when I do I will certainly take your advice.

Many thanks

Chris

Lovely offer. Thanks Aztecs!
If I get my backside in gear and get there this year, it'll be most appreciated!

What a really generous offer Aztecs. Must try and sort myself out to make some meets and play this course so many have raved about.

Is there anything for the wenches to do while the hunter/gatherers go doing manly things on the golf course.
(I know that sounds a bit bad, but none of the other halves play so they would need some sort of incentive, like spa or shops :D)

Alternatively, will have to organise one for the golfers here, and another elsewhere for the womenfolk to come with us ;)

There's a few "boutique"-y shops that they can go to. Plenty of good walks and they could always just put their feet up at the hotel and relax.

But a boys weekend is clearly the way forward.

Sounds like a plan.

I would appreciate an idea of what you would consider to be correct etiquette for number of rooms as I would not want to take the **** and be thought badly of.

Thanks again for the heads up.

Well it would just be subject to availability. My mum will let you know if there's any number or restrictions. You can book as many rooms as you like really. I don't even know how favourable the rate is going to be (yet), she'll probably give 50p off per room, per night :D
