Ivor Robson

He is probably a very nice guy who was in the right place at the right time and good luck to him in his retirement.

However he's done it for too long. Old farts (of which I'm one) need to move over to let younger people into these positions there is too much of an 'old guard' that stumble on and on in the world of golf which doesn't help the fuddy, duddy view of non-golfers and younger potential golfers.

This is an example of a job that should be rotated and not be the monopoly of one person.

Disagree I'm afraid. He's become iconic and respected by everyone on the tour. I don't see why it needs to be rotated, other than he's moving on.

Can't understand how he managed to do it from first tee off to the last without visiting the toilet!

Sad day in that Ivor has now uttered those familiar words: "On the tee....." for the last time.

Andy Sullivan the privileged player to be his last introduction.

Some shoes to fill for whoever does the job from now on.
He had a decent and easy to pronounce two ball to call for his last time.

So this begs the question... who should replace him?

I think someone young, hip, cool, trendy, down with the kids.

Keith Lemon.

"On the Tee from Northern Ireland, Rory McIlroy. Oooosh."

In future, as well as being announced onto the tee each golfer will have their own entry music played, like WWE wrestlers!

Kids will be queuing up for lessons down their local club..... ;)

I never knew that Ivor Robson was a professional Golfer until Sunday. I think they should give the job to Radar, although I would miss his on course commentary.

Sorry, but I don't get the fuss, maybe a wonderful person/father/husband/man, but he's just stood there calling out names, not exactly contributing to society, could of just as easily been done by him sitting in an office somewhere (near a toilet maybe) on the course and the announcements coming over a PA System.
Hope he has a very happy and long retirement.
