• We'd like to take this opportunity to wish you a Happy Holidays and a very Merry Christmas from all at Golf Monthly. Thank you for sharing your 2025 with us!

I've had enough

Bah Humbug. No complaints from me but the dogs aren't happy! I've been out running so playing golf is no problem and neither is sleeping.

Course could do with a bit of rain, but I'd sooner have heat than cold or wet.

Played golf in 27 degree heat with hardly any breeze last week and must admit it was a tad too hot for me by the end of the round. But sleeping not a problem as I live in a barn and they never get that warm.

It's not the heat as such which does you in but the humidity. I've been in places that are 35 degrees but with dry heat, and it's great. But 25 degrees and high humidity is not nice.

The gym and work has been the killer for me, golf is harder than normal as I carry and I'm feeling the fatigue in this heat but I just forget about it and plod on.

IMurg - It has just dawned on me this could be all my fault.

Having re-joined a club and thinking I may not always only play when it is nice now, I picked up a waterproof jacket and some MacWets. Just spotted them in the drawer, reckon it was just before the heat arrived!

I used to love in Hong Kong and it was humid as anything it really did you in

I'd agree with that, 36 in NZ was more comfortable than the 30 we've been having but still no complaints here really ;)

If it's any consolation, there's thunder and lightning over my way at the moment with rain forecast over ascot right about now. Sun will be back out tomorrow though

I was born in HongKong....98% humidity, 99f.......

Yeah the summers here are similar with 30 degrees on the coast and 85% humidity so golf just now at 25c & 70% is quite comfortable

(its not the 30c day temp that's the worst, its the fact that at night the temp stays exactly the same as it is during the day!) a dip in the ocean is only marginally better as its 25c!

Stop bloody moaning, got back yesterday went outside for a smoke at heathrow and got goose bumps it was that cold. Just spent 6weeks somewhere that normally only saw 30 at around 2 in the morning.

I love the heat and the hotter the better. Playing when it was 45 was amazing.
