Is it me, but there appears to be a huge increase in 'who's online' recently?

It would be interesting to see a graph of user levels over the last couple of months.

Where has everyone suddenly come from? The cynic in me says that the larger feature of the forum in the mag has brought out the 'wannabees'. The same ones on Britains Got Talent and the X Factor.

However, I'm sure that's not the reason, and the increased popularity is due to the readerships awareness of the forum, and dare I say it, some coming over from the 'other side'.

Maybe it's because of the addition of the new categories making it easier to navigate?

Whatever it is, it's good to 'see' so many new faces around, and joining in. Welcome, take part and enjoy.

(Just don't bring up GPS for a little while!!)

Or custom fit.

There does seem to be more activity on here at the moment though, you are right.

For me, it is using my new baby laptop. It has opened up a world of opportunity.

More the merrier (except for freeloaders trying to flog dodgy gear or crap websites). I know a lot of newbies have said they have been around in the shadows for a while before making a post. I'm not sure what the reason is although the new layout does seem more inviting. Maybe it is because it is a lot friendlier than TG and easier to navigate or maybe the lure of the GM pages is too much to ignore.

Its got to be good.

Be nice if we could get a lower ranked Tour Pro to get on here - give as feel of the ordinary life of a pro rather than the top dogs who have most things fetched and carried. Maybe a weekly "what my weeks been like" - probably a non-starter because it would probably go " played today, sunk a few putts, missed the cut again, went home and did the washing!"

But a few pros like Westfield - that girl that was trying to flog the Titleist gear a week or 2 back would have insights into the game that we wouldn't think of and I reckon that would be interesting.

Maybe MikeH could get Howller on the Forum!! :p :p

Havin' been on here for just short of two years and have seen the same posts 10 or 11 times but I guess it is just the forum revolving and evolving. I dont like it when someone cuts a thread off by cutting and pasting a link to a similar thread that was discussed weeks earlier. Let it run its time.

Let's face it, there's only so much we can discuss golf related. So certain topics are ging to go around as new products come along, or we interested in the latest up to date opinion, or someone new joins in. Agree with Madandra, lets let a topic regardless of how often it's repeated, take it's natural course. You never know what might crop up. Look at how the GPS, Caddyaid thing has developed over the last 6 months.

I don't think you can cut a thread just because a majority have aready commented on it. There are new members coming on board all the time and hopefully that will increase once the pages get going inthe mag. New faces will always bring a new point of view. Old hands on here will know that most of our threads have a habit of going off on a tangent anyway so I doubt we'll ever repeat any thread entirely.

"Tonight Mike ..... i'm going to be..??"

I don't want to be a wannabe. Not too keen on publicity.

As for the pro.. David Howells offering a short monthly blog would be superb (or some other popular tour star)

As for westfield, she said that she was a professional but didn't say at what.... said she wrote in a golf publication. Again just cos someone writes in a mag doesn't mean that that is their chosen career. Personally I think it was a bit of posturing to put the bullies in their place AND it kind of worked. :D

Always wondered if MikeH had the power to persuade Howell to get involved on here, or anyone else on tour for that matter.

There was a guy who was a pro? or trying to make the tour next year who came on before xmas, was he just plugging his website or is he still about, I dont know?

Great point Madandra, look how the ever feared CF thread has now got probably more people for it than against it. Just shows that with every new member unvieled a vault of new opinions are unleashed. :D

Welcome Noobs! :D

I think everything sport and fitness related gets busy in January with the whole New Years resolutions thing working its magic. I certainly know from HID that the gym is full, will probably calm down again in Feb when the novelty wears off.

But as far as golf is concerned, once it gets its hook (or slice) in you, the novelty last forever! So I look forward to all the newbie threads!!!

I bet we'll get a load of new names come onboard around the masters and opens too!

i have slowed down in commenting in the past few months, i am constantly on the site but if i don't feel the need to reply i don't, maybe it is because of the revolving theory

Well i certainly have been posting a bit more recently after joining and being in the shadows for a bit but my recent interest is purely because i have had promotion at work and i am now working from my own office at a desk....Don't tell my boss ...

and the more i read the more i want to add my own veiws.
I hope it is welcomed.

I must add iat first for me anyway i did get the impression that the for forum was a bit cliquey and closed shop... but after persivering for a while i find it to be different. Maybe others have had a similar experience.

(wish the was a spell check on here)
