Played yesterday morning in the roll up medal and arrived at the 18th tee needing a par 5 for 80 which would have been my best score off the white tees.

15 minutes or so later I was signing for 85 after taking 10!!

Absolutely gutted.

Is indeed - never ever add up your score before you walk of the 18th green. been doing it for years and hate when people tell me any part of it

My thoughts go with you, been there, got the tee shirt.

Last time- I reckoned I needed a birdie 3 on the last to win best gross. Went for the big one and knocked it OB. Still managed a 5 and found out a 4 would have been good enough.

Take the positives away from the 17 holes well played and learn to deal with nerves and expectations and when you know you are scoring well. It's not easy to do and you have to keep putting yourself in that position to learn how to get better at it

Unlucky pal! It’s a tough finishing hole with a big dog leg iirc... remember the good shots!
