Is Tom Lewis the new Gordon Sherry?

Standard on Tour is frightening. Stand on the practice ground of any top amateur tournament and every one of them can play. 10-12 years ago I worked at R&A amateur tournaments, Pablo Martin and Nick Dougherty were certainties to be World Class, takes a lot more than talent alone

Dougherty was almost there with over 6 million in earnings before he's slump.

I think you're being a bit harsh on young Tom. I'm sure I read somewhere that he joined up with Harmon shortly after he won because he knew he had some issues that needed fixing and winning gave him the comfort of making changes without worrying about his card for a couple of years. He clearly knows how to win, I wouldn't write him off just yet

David Robertson did sort of blot his copybook though didn't he.

He was the guy referred to in an earlier post. Not The Ballmark Kid to my knowledge. Better known as Jumping Beans.
He got his Amateur status back after many years but was pretty much shunned by all.
As a boy prodigy he had a very pushy father.

As he's a member at my club I obviously wish him well and always have a look at his results, he has slid dramatically and no one can say why apart from him. I think he will turn it round and make a career on tour just so long as he doesnt lose his card at the first time of asking.

Sherry was unfortunate to be in an era where a lot of good young players were making a breakthrough.

I don't think Lewis has the same class of competition amongst his age group
