IS THIS THE GAME FOR ME

We have a bar levy of £50 and I have no issue paying it. I regularly have some guys over to play (including a few from here) and will always get them a beer and I've even been known to get the grub in too. To me, the banter in the 19th at the weekend after a competition is as much fun as the game itself and it can be a pretty savage school in terms of humour and put downs.

Again I guess I'm lucky and have a locker to leave my clubs in which means I have to use the locker room. This of course means I'm more likely to use the bar but to be honese even if I've only been on the putting green for an hour I still like to pop in. Its sometimes the best way of finding out whats actually happening in the club.

I totally understand those guys that have family committments and want to dash straight off after a game. No qualms about that. Its the guys that roll up regularly several times a week for a game with their cronies and who still insist on changing in the car park and going straight off I have an issue with.Similarly the juniors too. They are welcome to use the clubhouse (not like in my day when we were banished to the smoky snooker room) and have their own area. Most just play, get straight on the phone to mother and then loiter. Why not get your face known and meet some of the adult members. They might be surprised that most will be interested in their game and progress
