Is it Xmas already?

Unless you have seen the coke lorry advert on TV, its not near Xmas.

Sadly that doesn't work anymore as Coke want to have their "new" advert through December and over Christmas so they play the lorry advert late in November rendering it null and void!

I don't think it's Christmas until I've heard Fairytale of New York on the radio in it's entirety. I normally get to around the 10th December before that happens so it's cool.

Categorically no sign of Christmas in our house until the week after daughters' birthday on December 11th. Clear break between events. At least the Americans have Thanksgiving in November to hold back the flood on commercialisation of Christmas until December. Perhaps we need more holidays to give retailers something else to think about.

Even Halloween and Guy Fawkes can't hold them back so I can't see what we could get going that would. It's become a commercial obsession and there's no stopping it until it self implodes by their own hands.

On the train I go past the Pimlico Plumbers bldg... they already have their Santa et al on the roof also I am told that John Lewis has their xmas tree up.... I say Xmas is here. #sad

We are all off to hell in a handcart!

My local Co-Op have mince pies on sale with a sell by date of 13th Oct.

IMHO Minced Spies (pun intended) are not just for Christmas so no problem with them being on sale now. Yummm!!

2 big tins of choccies (Quality Street & Roses) for £7.00 at Morrisons.
Cushty.
I love Christmas (and strawberry/orange cremes)
:D

Quality Street & Roses - are slightly old-fashioned chocs and I hate that purple one with the soft caramel with the nut. Yuck!!
Why not try a more modern choc this year, Smiffy? Celebrations or Mini Heros for example?

And, errr... I prefer a great, BIIIIIG bar of dark Toblerone! (That's for anyone reading this over my shoulder!!):D
