Course Open!!

Links or Parkland??......you canny beat the Links!!

12 holes in play,front nine then 10,17 & 18 albeit on winter greens yesterday..... but TODAY the whole 18 is OPEN on the full course!!

Get in!!May have to take an afternoon off work!!

Dodger, seeing as you're off 2.5 and you've not played for a considerable amount of time, what impact do you think the imposed lay off will have on your game??? What are your expectations for your first game???

No short game!
Always the 1st thing to go after a lay off no matter what your Hcap is.

I have not played for 8 months but feel I could go back and hit the ball pretty solid straight away.
20 years of the same drills with your swing stay with you but there would be no touch or feel around the greens at all.

The lower the Hcap,the quicker it returns usually though.

Nothing new there then!

Aint played for a month so think the biggest thing is just getting the swing going again,don't see it as being a huge problem but will maybe no be saying that come Saturday lunchtime!

The thaw has started, but it won't be gone for the weekend. Lucky Dodger then.

I am still hoping to find a driving range open so I can get a bit of practice in, let alone a golf course.

I played Goswick last August, (it felt like October), as well as Dunstanburgh and Bamburgh. Very nice course. I think the wind was the big issue as i recall. Hitting the green in two on a par 5 on back 9 and then it came to the turn and oh yes, a very different story!

newbiggin by the sea opened on monday only 14 holes thou, hopefully by weekend all 18 will b, car`nt beleive how fast snow melted, prob play sunday as its forecast less windy by then and a barmy 7c
