Irish Handicaps

I think its laughable that the GUI was singled out as the example. Cheating happens in every club in every county. Wasnt that long ago Nairn was in the press, guys on here laughing at the winners of trilby events etc. It needs addressing as a whole.
The GUI has made steps to stop handicap massaging in the form of the ten 0.1's rules etc but fact of the matter is that it takes the players to govern, not the unions, at least one guy in each group to have the balls to call the cheats out, UK & Ire wide and that will begin to impact the perceived bandits.

I didn't single the Irish out it comes after the guys who won the AG doubles who were clearly at it and saw the response from the Union on this issue , heck every club has them ,mine had them 2 years ago and they were on the council which made it worse, but i've played with a few lads from the south and to say the protected there handicap is an understatement

I think Brendy has a point. Does it not happen to one degree or another across the UK too. We've all come across out and out bandits at times, some of whom even admit they are playing the system so what makes the GUI any different other than admitting the problem and looking to tackle it
