In praise of hybrids

I have a love hate relation ship with hybrids - hopefully that is changing to a proper romance

I have bought a few to try and love the idea of them, on the range they seem to go well but on the course I have topped and sliced my way round with them even when I am hitting my irons or fairways well.

Consequently they have not lasted in the bag long and the 4 iron has been my go to club for anything between fairway wood length and irons. I would rather hit a full 4 iron than risk a 3/4 swing on a 5 wood.

I wanted to give it another try and recently got an R15 hybrid at 19 degrees. I have changed the shaft to a slightly longer version (due to my height) and two practice rounds in and its still going great.

Lets see what happens when the comp season starts - will it be still in the bag or in a dark corner of the garage (or worse wrapped round a tree)?
