Hi Guys and Gals :)

Got a Society at Barton-on-Sea on Friday, playing 18 hole singles Comp, then a 9 Hole 3Ball Comp, all in the name of Fun :D

The Society is called The Shamblers, some may have seen it on GolfMagic, well we get together and play all over the country, well as far up as possible.

I noticed harrymonk is a member, but need as much advise as possible......Just need a upper hand if poss, well we do have 3 players playing who are members there.

My advice is to get out early so you stand in the clubhouse with a pint and watch loads of people's rounds implode as they go in the lake at the very short island 18th in front of the clubhouse.

Make sure you keep it in play as the rough can be penal - it looks wide open, but into the wind you can easily get pushed off line. there are a couple fo holes where it pays to check out the fairway over the dip, as you can run long and head into ditches.

Enjoy - it's a great course.

Played there in April. Course was in excellent nick.

3 x 9's

Becton - best 9 in my opinion. superb views and v. challenging holes

Stroller - good layout and the par 3's are tough

Needles - bit of a slog this one but the island hole last is well worth it.

If the wind really blows you'll be making the most rediculous club selections for some shots.

All the best

Right, also played there before. 3 nines. Different colour flags. Remember which colour you are playing, as often from where you are you can see 5 flags. Mate of mine disappeared for 3 holes, got completely confused.
Nice track, tricky if the wind blows.
Ditto for sitting on the veranda watching people screw up on the island green. I did. Hit pin high and screwed it back 30ft into the water.
