The temperature in weather forecasts is measured in the shade, and sheltered from the wind, so you'd need to add windchill to the figure in question.

Strands in Birmingham yesterday when the airport cancelled all flights after 7pm, it was minus ten at least (taxi thermometer) and was bloody bitter. Today wasn't much better.

Hope it warms up in Reading by Saturday. Taking my daughter and some friends to the game against Coventry. Doubt if we will be jumping up and down with excitement too often. ;)

When I got in the car this morning the display said -12 in Grantham. Was still reading -9 when I arrived in Peterborough and was -5 on my way home from work. Too damned cold for my liking.

Not such good news for those oop North. Metcheck doesn't give us a day where it feels above freezing for as far ahead as it forecasts.

Currently, 22nd December still at -8.

They need to come and measure it in our kitchen... :( :( :( :( :(

Bloody 1930's house with a cellar underneath the kitchen and how is it only during this weather that you notice the number of large cracks around the window frames and the cat flap decides to break, leaving a gaping hole in the kitchen door.
Why am I useless at DIY, computers and golf?
