Normaly people hate temp tees and frozen temp greens but I seem to be playing my best golf on them!

I know the course is shorter and most the Greenside bunkers don't come into play but my last 3 rounds have been gross 85, 94 and a 87 today.

I think it's going out and not expecting to score too well because of the conditions and don't put so much pressure on myself.

I think the true test will be on Wednesday when I play Sharpley as it will be on proper tees/greens because it's ment to get up to about 10c

Anyway enough of blowing my own trumpet, anyone else enjoying winter golf?

I still managed to find some bunkers on Saturday. Even deliberately clubbing shoert I watched and laughed as one approach took a huge bounce high and long into a trap some twenty yards past the temp green. What else can you do. They should be avoided as I had no idea how to play it off a top surface just giving and then frozen a few millimeters underneath. One of the group even tried putting out of one trap but the big smile on his face as he did it sort of said he wasn't entirely sure himself. Anything that gets you out and swinging I guess is good to a degree but I'd rather hit the range given the choice

nope not on bloody bit, and if its still frozen this weekend, im spending it in bed snugged up with the misses... earn some brownie points and stay warm

It was perfect weather up here today, well the best you can get for January.

Clear blue sky, not a breath of wind and pretty much an empty course, plus the course looked stunning with all the frost glistening in the sun.

Yes I love winter golf as long as it is not hosing down. Sunny and crispy is the best, full thermals to keep me warm. Banter seems to be even better in the cold. I would normally say the course is also quieter, but on Saturday there were hardly any spaces in the carpark at 10.30. Not a lot else to do if not playing golf.
