I'm creating my own MONSTER!!!!

As you are probably aware from a previous post I stupidly plunged straight in and bought a Callaway FTi driver a couple of weeks ago. I love the Matrix Ozik shaft to bits and I'm pleased with the club, however I just know I'm never going to be 100% settled with that melted welly of a head.

I am therefore creating my own driver by butchering the Matrix shaft from the Callaway and putting it into another club. I have now settled on a driver head that I like and know that the Matrix Ozik shaft wont create a huge difference in swing weight etc, in fact it will probably lower the spin rate even more creating a stronger straighter ball flight.

I hope to have this club completed in the next 14 days, I will post the finished beast and you can decide if you like her!

Not giving anything else away now!

(I am putting a Grafalloy Prolaunch Blue regular shaft into the FTi head if anyone wants to make me an offer!)

theoretically it sounds like a great idea, however how can you be sure it will work? Are you going to get a professional to do it as I have been told that you can mess up a shaft quite easily trying to getit out of the hossel.

Anyway best of luck with it and hopefully the results are good for you.

Wouldnt dream of trying to do it myself the Matrix Ozik shaft is £200 alone! I have all the work lined up ready to go. Just awaiting delivery of my other driver so the head can be butchered from it.

Yes, I'm sure this will work having done a bit of research and from a conversation with my local Ping club-fitter who has a launch monitor. No its not a Ping head going onto the new mutated beast!!!

I think this will be fun, a one off world exclusive in my bag!!!!!
