I was really looking forward to my round today, bright sunshine clear blue sky.1st hole at my gaff is a 521 yard par 5,i ripped my drive right down the middle about 280.
Anyway, cut a long story short i made a hash of my 5 wood and then my 9 iron, ending up in a greenside bunker which took me 2 to get out and onto the green!! then i lost it and tossed my new cleveland wedge at my trolly, snapping it clean in half! has anyone else done something so childish or is it just me?! Anyhow after my embarrasing teddy throwing i played pretty well!

Non of that from me sorry, You sound like a prat :D

Am sure we have all had our moments, its what you do about them they make you better for it.

How much is the new shaft going to cost?

I should be able to,if not i will have to buy a new one, which is a bummer but its tough i suppose.
Shouldn't have done it,i wont do it again! Daft thing is i used to get really frustrated but im pretty chilled now!!

Never have.

What effect did all this have on your fellow players? That's what you have to think about, and I hope you gave some suitable apologies.

I was playing with my old fella,he said "it serves you right",i couldnt argue with him really. And yes of course i apologised,im not a total plonker-honest!!

I was playing the swindle last year, only been a member of the club for a month or so.
I had a dreadful round, got to the 14th Green, had a chip and duffed it, I tossed my Wedge casually behind me, a bit pissed, it crashed into my bag and trolly making such a noise, did not mean to do it, but I make the effort now not to get pissed, as can get embarrissing, I had to opologize to playing partners, was not a great start to my membership, but I have sorted it out, now the toys stay in the pram.

Snapped my five wood at the range, after a few weeks of continuous frustration with my ball striking (cost £100 for a new mx-700)

Prat or not, it demonstrates how passionate we can get about golf and our desire to improve, BUT you need to channel the anger in a different way or it will destroy you.

What happened with the 5 wood and 9 iron shot, try and learn from the mistakes, build on the positives, be relaxed, confident, control yourself and the game.

Yep, broken just about every club in the bag at one stage or other. Usually pretty mellow, but sometimes it just gets too much. Have got a putter stuck up a tree before too.

Top marks for loosing it on the first though. It usually takes a few more holes than that for me to spit the dummy.

Cheers folks, nice to know im not on my own! Some good points raised above,i took it out on my wedge but if i had hit my 5 wood ok then i wouldnt have needed to get off the beach! And yes it was a tad early to chuck my teddy out,i soon got my head right mind,i had 3 pars in the next 5 holes!! What a fantastic game it is :)

Ive only broken them by accident trying to stop after a tricky shot against a tree often does it, that and standing on one when I was drunk.
I have got angry a few times but never yet killed any clubs through it.

i was playing a sound round once and hit a massive bunker on 18 which took me 3 to get out! Well mad and threw a big strop and when you hit the soles of ur shoes to knock off the sand in ur cleats, i was doing it harder than normal and smacked me ankle chipping my bone!

Not a good day!

I use to be the worst for throwing clubs and getting over stressed if I played badly or hit a bad shot. After a pretty close call healthwise it has put thing into a much sharper focus and I'm 100% better although I have been known to dig the toe of a wedge into the bunker and the practice ground.

One of my regular Saturday 4 had a new set of Yonex and threw his SW in a fit of pique and snapped it abouve the hosel and had the cheek to go back to AG and say it had snapped in play and they repaired it for him

I know a guy who, while playing S.Kyme hit several balls into a lake at a short par 3.(12th Herb?)
It just sent him over the edge where he had been hovering for a few holes.
All the toys came out of the cot and all his gear went in the pond. Clubs, bag trolley the lot. He called me that night to arrange a lesson but we had to wait a week till he bought some new clubs. Thats right, he left them in the pond and walked in. :D
