Shouldn't Strauss just declare now? How much of a lead do they need?

He'll get us to a lead of 400 then declare (sometime around lunch I would think). Then we bowl them out before they reach the 400 they need. Simples.

Going to try and stay awake until lunch.

I wouldn't be shocked to see this wrapped up by the end of the day if we declare before lunch and our bowlers are hot. Especially if the ball keeps swinging.

I would declare now and keep the momentum going rather than give the Aussies a second wind bowling you out.

Good point, but I think they'll want to get to a 400 lead before declaring. Psychologically a "bigger" score for them try and target.

theres still 8 session left, no reason to declare at all, happy to keep the aussies out there and give the deck a chance to deteriorate. Declaration wont come till an hour after lunch at the earliest for me

Yea, was just thinking about this. Bowlers look tired, keep them slogging away until they've bowled us all out and see what lead we can get.
