shot 1under my h/c today in a friendly game with a mate. On way to doing this i had 3 4putts all where GIR and i walked away with a 6!!!
rest where mostly 3 putts and the odd 2 putt dont think i had a 1 putt all day if i did it was only one. On contrast he beat me by a shot and his putter was on fire just the rest of his game was poor haha prooves the old addage putt for dough drive for show.

If i can nail putting consitantly i reckon my h/c will drop in no time.

copied this post of mine from anther thread as its relevant here.

are your greens in great nick? ours are like a giant rolled out golf ball. bobbles everywhere. they are not taking the breaks properly and bouncing from the minute it leaves the putter. i played my bros course on thursday and their greens were perfect. i felt like i could actually hole any putt if i got the line and pace right? i wont be taking my putting to seriously until this gets sorted out.

what do you play off atm connor?

greens where in good nick suprisingly especially after yesterdays downpour. and the fact of how me mate was putting i knew i couldnt blame the greens. play off 27
i was just not picking out lines right or i was under hitting them, or leaving my self monster length down and across tiers

under hitting is the main source of 3 putts i find. as big monty keeps saying, anything less then 18inchs past the hole is a short putt. try and keep that in mind.

just looked in a mirror whilst mimicking my putting stroke. My arms seem pretty straight. Got the mrs to take a couple pics for me so you can have a look will upload them in a sec

the last one i have hit the ball so the putter has moved.. i tried to show a close of the grip as well.. obviously i havent got me golf shoes on but isnt a great deal of height difference but that is basically how im set up on the course.

I'm sure you can see the angle is at your hands whereas Luke's is at his elbows.
If your arms are straight down, it will seem a bit wooden without much feel to the swing.
Try keeping your elbows tucked in and lift your hands so there is a straight line from your lower arm into the putter shaft.

Now, let me think what training aid might help you

I had a decent putting practice session before. After I'd been on the range, popped to the putting green. Started off with some 3 footers, then 6 then 9. Then tried from about 20ft. Did 4 sets of 6 balls - think I had 4 1-putts, 18 2-putts and 2 3-putts. Granted I was taking on the same putt 24 times, but it was good practise for my stroke and it was obvious what I did wrong on both of the 3-putts (not concentrating and leaving my first putt way short). Now if I can take that kind of putting onto the course....

forgot to say thanks for the adivce bob. i still got 2 banked lessons at a local pro so might go see him regards to my putting and the stroke, seem as he managed to sort the rest of my shambolic game out to get me something slightly resembling a golfer instead of a lunatic yeailding an axe swing

Can you take your V-Easy with you and let the pro see it ? Will be interested in hearing what he thinks of it. :)
