Daily Mail 4somes qualifying today

After yesterdays rain all the bunkers were awful or flooded and yet somehow not GUR

We had two doubles from behind in bunkers

Ended up with a gross 73 ( 2 over ) for a net 70

And yep beaten in those conditions by someone with significantly more shots

Played decent in our final qualifier on Saturday for a gross 76. Only 1 birdie but I was kicking myself as I had a 3 putt on the 15th and finished with a double on 18 . Nice solid counter though.

A nice steady 36 points today....
I blow up hole which was only a double, signed for a 79 and a small cut to 5.8
A few decent scores dropping out of my 20 soon so need to keep this sort of form going or I could be up to 6.9 by the end of next week

I had an unexpected round at Fulford this morning, thanks to a friend on Facebook, I actually had my best round of the year, 3 under handicap, despite a 4 putt from15 feet on one hole. The course was in great condition although some of the greens had been hollow tined.
So I had my first handicap reduction of the year albeit only by 0.1

Indoor Trackman "game" at the club with a mate, playing Wentworth.
One of the pros popped in to check we we're okay and watched my drive. And then fixed my drive (to a degree!) with a really simple tip.
I was nowhere near 'tilted' enough, so he got my to address the ball, grip the driver with my left hand. Right arm down by my side and my right hand touching my pocket. Then drop my right shoulder so my hand touches my knee. The grip the club with my right hand.
My God, it's weird! But my God, it stopped the carve to the right!
Work over winter now set!

It's amazing how quickly a pro can spot a fault and just fix it

I played my first round in 7 months today . A round of 2 halves front 1 over back 6 over handicap. Started to get tired and developed a bit of an army game. At least it was no lost balls.
Almost a lot better having had about 7 tap in putts after not quite getting the pace right.

I know we knock the weather forecasters but they really ballsed it up today...
Thick fog they said...visibility less than 100 metres they said......
Got to the club and I reckon I could see......oh about 25 miles or so.....
Anyway, off we went, starting on the 10th.....19 points out (+3)
Incredibly bad drive on the 4th, our 13th, led to a lost ball and a triple booger.....
But 17 points back (+4) saw me sign for a 78(+7), 36 points and a 0.3 cut to 5.5 assuming PCC doesn't kick in for the 51st time in a row....
Another good day at the office....it's still a stupid game though

18 holes this afternoon seeing as weather was good. No birdies , 9 over par, off the white tees… conditions were sticky, so the long holes were long. However the new driver is still behaving.
Irons are okay, I have been going out at lunchtime and hitting 20 balls, trying to relax my grip and forearms. Which has definitely improved my iron play.

Played Hadden Hill nr Didcot with the Society today..
Cheap and cheerful place, course is a bit like marching in places...about turn......about turn....
Wet too, understandably, but not to the point of making life too tricky.
Ended up 5 over 76 for 40 points and, to be honest, that's the worst score I think I could have shot today..
Plenty of very near misses and a spattering of poor shots so pretty pleasing, especially not having played there before.
A nice day out weather wise, took the money, beat Fragger....if Carlsberg did Thursdays..........

Enjoyable day oot in rural Oxfordshire, I got 38 for second place, plus nearest the pin prize, so not too shabby
Lost ball in the leaves to the left of the green cost me dear, otherwise I’d have given you more of a run 😎👍

Tyneside today. Course was in very good condition for the time of year, particularly the greens.

Drove well, short game was good but for some unknown reason struggled with my hybrids for the second or third game in a row. Very frustrating as they are normally my best clubs.

Played today and rammel, however a little conversation went round the fuddle re guy who had left our fuddle for cheating. Bottom line he won a pairs comp over the weekend and let’s just say his integrity was questioned by some of the lads. Mud does indeed stick.
