Some of you guys who've seen my driving know I'm not a big hitter - usually hit it out there between 200-230yds, when I don't duff it of course .

Well on Monday on our par 4 5th at 368yds off the yellows, I hit my drive on to the 2nd fairway, never ever been there before in 1, and had only 50-60yds left!!

That means I hit it just over 300 yds!!!!

So, Timgolfy, you 'aint the only one that can hit it long

Bugger! I was hoping nobody would ask that.

It was a fluffy lie, so I took a sand iron, put it pin high, but in the bloody bunker to the right of the green, took me 2 to get out and 3 fecking putts.

So it just goes to show ya, you need a good short game!

Now was there a topic about this somewhere?

Funny enough, on Tuesday (when the wind had died down considerably) I hit 333 of the tee, then 285 in the opposite direction.

Anyone want to join the 333 club?

EH no it doesnt actualy mean that.. SORRY, just like a dog leg par 4 or 5 if you hit it over the corner the yardage is less ,, yardage is measured down the centre of the fairway so cutting corners may leave you less to the green but doesnt mean youve actualy driven it further ... hey maybe you went the long way & actualy drove the ball further tho , sounds better that way

Good shooting - the 2nd fairway isnt easy either as at a slight angle.

Normally happy to make the 1st bunker - distance wise that is!

Been in that 2nd bunker enough times to appreciate frustrations!

Got a lesson booked for my driving* on Monday 9th - If you around I have a tee after lesson at 12:54?

EH no it doesnt actualy mean that.. When I said the 2nd fairway, I meant, let me explain further, fairway, then 40-50 yds of semi rough, then 2nd fairway, and no corners cut. It really was an awesome strike, right out of the sweetspot.

It don't happen very often, let me have some glory.
