I bought today.....

As mentioned in another thread, due a nice bonus in this month’s pay packet so went to the local golf shop (not AG 🤪) to try out some new putters. Was drawn to TM Spiders and they had a good range, different heads and shaft lengths. Tried a few, including the centre shaft models and settled on a Tour S, double bend, counter balance model with a 38” shaft (need to make sure it doesn’t anchor against my beer belly 🤣). Looking forward to seeing how it works on Wednesday.
Does your beer belly work differently on a Wednesday?😂😂

Never tried a longer putter I might have a go .
Tried everything else 😳

The only thing I could do today was putt and I am a true believer of Lie Angle Balance.

Wish someone would inveny something to make me play better with everything else :ROFLMAO:

I’ve got the AI Jailbird Cruiser that is 38” as well. What I’m finding is on putts 20 foot and in I grip down about 4 inches (and like you I need to be careful it doesn’t anchor on my food belly) but on the longer putts I grip at the end so no counterbalance and my pace on long putts has been phenomenal. The roll had been unreal. Absolutely loving it so far, I’ve got so much confidence on the greens at the minute.

I struggle with distance control, leave a lot short so hopefully this will help

It was my birthday recently so I splurged. Frist a pair of Mizuno G-style shoes. Out of the box, 9 holes, just one little blister. Optimistic that they'll work out fine. Then, I have a Cleveland mashie hybrid in the bag (23 degree) and when I hit it well, it's truly splendid. Unfortunately, just a slight mishit turns into a snap hook - out of bounds, in the trees, in the water. Really hard left. So, I got two 2008 Callaway Big Bertha i-brid clubs: 4 and 5 'iron'- for less than 50 Euros incl shipping, good as new. They both feature a big flange on the back, and are actually quite ugly clubs. But took them out to the range and got great results. Wiill decide which one to bag, perhaps switch out one or the other depending on the course. But I am optimistic that I've found a reliable 165 yard club.

A mid size grip, lambkin, to replace an entirely smooth one. I found an old Adams Tight Lies fairway wood, 16⁰, in the garage which I haven't used for an age. I gave it a waggle in the garden and it felt very comfortable. I took it out Saturday, went well. I wanted to check it wasn't a one off so used it again yesterday. Went well so I decided it was justified to change the grip. I like the thicker grips, I have them on my irons.

I also asked the pro to take an inch off the length of the shaft as I've been going down the shaft on it. If I'm changing the grip, may as well make that permanent. So, as well as a new grip, I bought minus 1" 😄.

I'll be using the new version on Thursday. No doubt I'll not hit a decent shot with it.

You might change the swingweight with a bigger grip and losing an inch.?

Did the pro check it.

Only to check the shaft was okay to cut. An inch isn't too dramatic. Shouldn't make much of a difference, should it?
You will find out Thursday.😉
Normally it makes the head end lighter and shaft a bit stiffer.
In some cases it helps up your speed .
All this is only if the swingweight was correct for you in the first place.
Most of us couldn’t tell the difference anyway.
