We have an unwritten agreement tho, she does all the Xmas shopping, food shopping etc .. but that's it. She doesn't put her hand in her pocket for nights out, house bills. Car bills etc. that's my department

Only time she pays is if we need cash for a tip as I never remember it lol 🤣

Just hope she doesn't decide to get into golf, because we know how much that's going to cost us 🤣

When I told her I was going to Oman at the end of Jan, without her for a week, playing golf, I was surprised how well she took it.

Nothing really left to buy for me, apart from a travel bag and although my trolly has GPS and I have a rangefinder, I fancy a Shot Scope V5 watch, but see what the sales bring up.

Now, I have good recomendations on travel bags, but I am a self confessed spender and have a Club Glove in my basket, which, seeing as I will use it once, is rather silly lol.

Just signed up and paid for a new membership at Guildford Golf Club. After my last club hiked the price by £600 it made sense to move somewhere else.

I don't know if many people had seen the deal Orka Golf were running but it was a fully fit set for £400, subject to change depending on upcharges on shafts and grips, etc.

I've had any current Orka's for just over 6 years and obviously my swing has evolved overtime so I went for a fitting tonight with the main man Alex.

I warmed up with my current 7 iron and then hit 10 shots to get a nice baseline. Coming out nice, good ball speed, fairly low spin and flight though, although I don't mind the low flight too much. My standard deviation though was insane at 0.7.

Tried a few different options after saying that I would like a little more spin and a bit more height, just to stop the ball a bit quicker. Now, due to my swing and the characteristics of it, I was never going to be in Alex's preferred range of 20° launch and 5800-6000 spin, but we landed on a Nippon shaft, slightly lighter than what I've got now, but we were seeing great ball speed at 115ish, spin around 5400 and launch angle around 18°, all with a lovely tight draw and going about 175 yards.

Anyway £400 later and I've got a brand new set from 5-PW in the RS1X head and a new SW, which will all be hand built and ready around early Jan, I can't wait!

My wife was complaining about my lack of a Christmas list. So I mentioned that this time of year there were ball deals if she was desperate.
She went apoplectic started opening all my drawers to say look you have loads .. she failed miserably.. as I had moved them 🤣 , she is right though, huge numbers of golf balls are not required.
My bag is stable, I just want to play.

That’s some discount - they show as £899 on the website!

This could be a thread all of its own, but I've talked about it with a lot of couples over the years, so I would be unlikely to hear anything new.

Mrs V and I are in a tiny minority, as far as we have been able to know.
Since we bought a house together in 1987, we have had a joint current account only. There is no issue for us with regards who is paying for what.
We thought about it lot in 1987 and we continue to be very glad that we took that step.

Ah see we have a joint account but I put all the bill money in, our wages are separate and I save as much as possible for the treats and she covers the food bill and the kids

Works well

New phone. Found a pixel 9 very good price so upgraded that now golf purchases are done for a bit
I got a Pixel 8 a few months ago. Very happy with it. Nice and simple, good battery life, logical layout. It always takes a few days to click the differences between a new phone and your old one but once you have sorted it, it's a good choice.
