Unless they are ICW11s, I can't see the point in buying irons that old, unless they were either bargains or for honing ball-striking. The game is hard enough as it is, why make it harder?

You see a post called vintage on the forum which is people using older clubs, in makes you realise how crap we are as golfers when using equipment from previous eras but also it’s bloody good fun!

My current set is a set of pinseeker blades circa mid 60’s complete with persimmon woods and myself along with two close friends have a knock every few months for a giggle. The ice’s come up which were the year I started so thought what the heck. They’re not the kvd’s I want thought.

Following on from my last post in "I played today", my putting has been so bad that I've decided to give a different type of putter a go.

It's a face balanced mallet, I've only ever used my current toe hanging Ping Anser but maybe my putting swing path has changed a bit since I seem to be pushing or pulling a lot of short putts. Got a great deal on the putter (£103 in good condition plus £5 delivery for last years model) so even if it doesn't work out I'll probably be able to punt it on eBay for the same I've just got it for.

Was looking around at golf balls, came across Seed Golf. Bought the trial pack of their SD-02, supposedly comparative to the ProV1x. Who knows, but they were £20 for a dozen and came with a bag of bamboo tees. their subscription model is interesting, I'll see what I think of the balls next time I'm out but worst case the completely recycled and recycle-able packaging combined with the bamboo tees means my rubbish golf will be slightly less bad for the planet!

Interesting. Can you just buy the trial pack or are you tied into a subscription? Tempted.

I signed up to the subscription and then paused which leaves me with no further orders/payments. If I like the balls, I might review the subscription. Or just cancel and buy in bulk...

I played the one-line Odyssey ten with a white-hot insert for a while, really liked it, and sunk some great putts, then I bought a cheap Rossie white hot pro 2.0 and got on very very well with it, and for some reason when I went back to the odyssey ten couldn't putt anything with it, so sold the ten and kept my rossie. I recently put in a 50g counterweight in the SS grip and my putting has never been so good.

This arrived today and as usual Callaway Preowned doesn't disappoint with the condition. They have ratings of Like New, Very Good, Good and Average. This putter was graded as Good yet it has arrived and I don't think it has ever hit a ball. There is not a single mark anywhere on it and the head cover still has a sticker on it saying "Please remove at the point of sale" so it must be brand new.

Seems like an absolute bargain for £103. Now lets just hope I can actually putt with it.

Same experience I've had with anything I've bought from them.

A £40 Mack Daddy 4 wedge was apparently in "average" condition and came with the wrapper still on it - it was a raw finish one as well so would have been rusty if it wasn't brand new and been rewrapped.

My Epic Flash driver was last season when I got it. This time in "good" condition but arrived with all the stickers on still.

I'm convinced they just have a terrible stock system so honour orders by sending out brand new equivalents!

Great shop!
