Forced to miss the stableford today (and the BMW qualifier) as I had a hyperglycaemic epsiode with my diabetes. I felt tried and a little dizzy after playing with HTL and Phil the Frag yesterday and took my medication last night as normal. Got up this morning and my sugar count was up at 14 (should be 6-7 tops). Felts really dizzy tired and light headed. Ended up going to the minor injuries at the local hospital and getting some treatment and need to go and arrange a diabetic appointment asap with my GP (chances are will have to switch to daily insulin injections  :().

Right fed up as I haven't been able to do anything today and was well up for golf after a pretty decent showing yesterday. They'd got the course in great shape too and I was well up for it. Still not felling 100% so doubt I'll even get to hit balls tomorrow. Blood sugar has come right back down but still need to keep a close eye overnight (after eating) and tomorrow morning. Hope everyone else managed to get out and play though

Take it easy Mate.

The Old Man's in the same boat so I know the score.

Or maybe it was watching Fragger's swing that got you? :p

Homer you play through that....My hats off to you lad......
Good to see that i doesnt hold you back from playing anyway....Hope the levels settle themselves. ;)

I got out today and shot an 87 im ok with it though as i had a mare last weekend and today i was striking the ball far better......Im beginning a love affair with my 52* wedge.....Its was like a magic wand for me today.

Played yesterday through the back nine. Just thought I was feeling a bit over tired. Felt really lethargic last night and it was only when I checked the sugar level this morning that I realised what it was. First time I've been hyper. Been hypo before which is where the count is too low and its a similar feeling. Worse thing is I didn't do anything out of the ordinary so not sure why the sugar level was so how. Hopefully the diabetic nurse will have some pointers although she had already wanted to put me on daily injections. Might have no choice now but at least I know the symptoms so if I feel unwell again I'll have a heads up to check my levels.

Sorry to hear that Mate, You played really well considering.

Headline " Hyper Homer Hits HTL & Fragger for 6 ";)

(Sorry thats more Cricket than Golf)

As Imurg said in his post, our old man is on daily insulin injections and he just gets on with it.

Hope it doesn't come to that.

Get Well, Pick up that Mojo and get yer butt back out on the course where it belongs

Fragger

Hope you can get it stabilised sooner rather than later Homer...take it easy and don't force anything; your health is precious.

Ian

Sugar levels can be changed by the smallest things, heat, stress etc etc..Daily injections are nowt to be scared of Homer,I do it up to ten times daily and control my Diabetes no problem at all and it makes not a jot of difference to my life in any way.Any worries give me a pm and I'll be glad to help out with any questions.

If it's golf stress related Homer will need a caddy to carry the number of 'shots' he'll need.

And that's just for a range session.

Hope you get it sorted soon, it sounds horrid. I get hypo every now and then and it isn't nice.
