Hi All,

Just asking how stiff you would consider going (no rude jokes thank you). I only ask as I bought some X16 pro's. When I bid on them they were listed as Stiff however when they came they had no shaft labels on so I e-mailed the seller asking what rifle they were and the reply came 6.5 !!! .

Anyhow having played 2 rounds with them I have never hit a set of irons so straight and in that I mean no shape just high and straight no draw/hook or fade/slice just straight. My weakness is normally the amount of par 3's I miss but in the last 36 holes I have hit GIR on all and posted a 1 under for them today with a 3 stab to boot.

So extra stiff seems to work for me however without this error in buying 6.5 I would never of touch such a stiff one.

If you're hitting 36 GIR's out of 36 holes you should be on Tour!

Xstiff rifles in the cold are for a seriously powerful player, like 6i going 190 yds. Are you?

I use extra stiff KBS shafts in my old mans ping irons and like them a lot. I find the extra stiffness keeps the ball from ballooning into the wind. It also makes them go a wee bit longer which is a benefit.

Par 3's only the way I read it matey.

I stand corrected, still good though! To hit the five Ballater par 3's (my old club) GIR would be a very very good achievement!

No mean feat at wheatley either, I reckon all of them are a decent challenge.

i learnt with 6.5's and have gone to 6 after a custom fit but will hopefully be getting enough speed in my swing to move back up within a couple of years
