How often do you clean your clubs?

I wipe them over after every shot then give them a thorough clean every 3-4weeks or so.

When i give them a thorough clean my mrs always pipes up "you clean them clubs more than you clean around this house", i just agree with her to hack her off.

Quite frankly this is a subject covered not long ago.

Quite frankly dont reply to it then

Ah, but it needs to be covered within this thread that it has been covered, to cover that fact that its been covered, otherwise you'd not know that it'd been covered before, that's why its so important to reply to the thread to point out its been covered...rofl. :D

I think that about covers it now... ;)

Depends how the club looks after a shot and I never see people cleaning drivers after any shots :D

If it looks clean it goes in the bag, if it looks dirty I give it a wipe with my towel, if they have had a busy day in the dirt I clean them thoroughly at home after playing or before I go out next.

But I must admit, I miss them sometimes and will often come across a crubby little cheeky one and then I take it by the ear, spit on the offending area and wipe it with my grubby towel..........bit like looking after kids :D ;)

Do you get your shoes shinned as well?
Only if you leave them out to be cleaned!

They also take your clubs from the main entrance to the pro-shop for you (and back again when you've finsished) It's a fantastic setup and the guys there are very polite, friendly and professional.

I do mine once a year whether they need it or not!!!

They get cleaned when it rains, they get cleaned when I play out of a water hazard. They get a good abrasive clean when I play out of a bunker. Hell, i'm cleaning them too much.

I do carry a brass brush for the grooves and a towel.

Usually on the course I wipe when needed and clean most weeks, this time of the year its more like once a fortnight with warm soapy water and dried then wiped over with a Yes! club cleaner wipe to stop rust for each club.

I wipe the clubs down after most shots then give them a really good clean after every good round I play so I can re-live each shot the club hit.

I've given them a good clean once...

I always clean my clubs on a monday evening with hot water so that the grooves are clean, even more so on the wedges and they sparkle in the summer sun ;). I can't stand starting a round with dirty clubs, it's just not right how can you expect to have a consistant ball flight if the club face is covered in hard dried mud?

I'm going to have to admit, i'm one of the dirty club brigade. I'll give them a quick wipe out on the course, and then maybe clean them about once a month..if I remember. They spend most of the time in the back of my car which btw doesn't get cleaned as often as the clubs. :o

This may sound obsesive but I make sure the grooves are clean after every shot and clean them after every use (course or range). Its the only way you can ensure consistancy if the club has a different combination of muck every shot it will affect spin and swingweight.

I dont clean mine at all....cuz I dont have any!

Seriously though, After every second round they all get taken out and cleaned. To echo an earlier statement HID often said that I take more care of my clubs than I do of her or the house!

As a matter of interest what do people use to clean their clubs? I just use washing up liquid and water with a sponge, using the 3in1 Masters club cleaner to clean out the grooves. Interesting one about the wonder wheels, is that alloy wheel cleaner? Also, what do you clean your grips with?

Can't play a shot if the club isn't clean. Good wipe with a damp towel as walking to next shot and back in the bag. Clean everything in the bag (and bag itself) every week.

well as i am sooo brilliant i never get my clubs dirty its just a gift :D i never get in the bunkers either cos iv jus got the talent haha

you're not that good if you have to use a Odyssey Marxman X-act chipper  ;)
