Old clubs you still play with?

My irons are Cleveland CG7 tour, which I bought new in 2011. I've been talking about changing them for about the last 5 years but they're still in the bag.

I bought a scotty cameron newport 2 pro platinum putter from the pro shop at Balmore golf club about 2004 or 05 I think, even then it was second hand, at least a few years old anyway. Since then I’ve tried to upgrade probably about half a dozen times with different new models, all shapes and sizes, centre shafts, heel shafts, mallets… each time resorting back to that old scotty if it was 6 month or a year or two later.

I had all the new ones still in a bag in the garage a couple years ago and decided to sell them all on and stick with the old trusty for good.
I’ve had my Scotty Cameron Studio Style Newport 2 for a long time. It’s the only club I’ve ever had where I’ve never even considered replacing. Not that I’m a brilliant putter. I just love the look and feel of it.

I've always found old worn grips on putters add to the feel too. Have both had those re-gripped or are they still original?

Oldest club in my bag is my 7 wood, a Cobra F9. Only came out 6 years ago ish, so not old by most people's standards. But I can see it staying for a while yet. It has rails on the sole which work fantastically well in hitting from different lies, and also when I fat the arse off it on the tee box, I still get a decent result out of it, which is ideal. I hit the ground 4 inches behind the ball the other day on the 18th, and it still went about 160 just off the right edge of the fairway.

Nobody at the moment is putting rails on their fairway woods, but technology normally comes round again eventually, so I think the F9 will be staying until someone starts putting rails on them again.

I use a Callaway Rouge driver and Rouge Irons, but the most important clubs in the bag are:
Callaway Versa Putter 12 years old
Wilson Fatshaft Gap Wedge 27 years old (use for all shots from 40 to 90 yards and greenside bunkers)
Spalding Tour Edition 7-iron bought the set in 1988 ( use for all chip shots. Because it's a blade can chip and run or open the face and play half flop shots)

An original white hot 2 ball putter that I bought when they first came out. And a 910 Titleist 3 wood that I’ve had for about 13 years.

Mine still has the original grip. I know what you mean. Although funnily enough, I looked last year at replacing it like for like and was shocked to see how much authentic ones cost new.

I’ve got a Titleist 3 and 5 wood that are over 20 years old I think. 3 wood is great, stiff shafted fairway finder, really useful round our place.

Oldest clubs are my irons mizuno pro 225 had them around 2.5 years now and been saying for last year I’ll need to get new ones. People who have irons that are 10+ years old are they not wearing away ? How long are irons supposed to last roughly?

I bought a new golf set when moving from Sweden to Uk for work in 1997. I don’t get excited by shopping in general and golf is no exception. So I hang on to my clubs longer than my friends do. The Mizuno T-Zoid 3-wood and Orlimar Trimetal 5-wood are still in the bag. Only Replaced my Taylormade LCG irons from 1997 a couple of weeks back for a used set of Ping G400.

100 to 150 years

I have a Cleveland Halo 3 Hybrid I bought new when hybrid/rescue clubs started to become a thing to replace my 3 iron, still using it now and have tried many as a replacement but nothing has come close.

Currently a TaylorMade RoHo 2 putter from 1996.
Sometimes swapped out by a few other newer but classic putters.
Although I am in the market for something!
Next oldest is a Callaway Rogue 5 wood which is 2021ish(?) .. that’s a firm friend.
Also currently I am carrying an Adams VST 4 hybrid from 2013 .. seems to be okay.
Everything else is quite new apart from orange castle tee that’s very old and I was fitted for.

I've got a Ping G2 five wood that is from 2003/4 and is the most reliable club in my bag. If it ever breaks, I will be straight on eBay to spend £10 on another one.
My Taylor Made TD irons are 1988 ish which I still have. (WISH)
My 12 deg 3 wood is Ping Isi 1998 ish (WISH)
I had the G2 driver which had a crack in the face.
Luckily the nice people at Ping replaced it in 2005 with a new top of the range G5 (WISH)
The following year I got a Ping Rapture hybrid 18 deg WISH
2008 I was given a YES CALLIE putter WISH

SO I guess it's easier to say my newest is the putter at 17 years old.
