How much of your golf apparel makes it to your daily wear?

Its the other way with me.

Most of my 'golf' gear is my fell walking gear. So on the course I usually wear RAB trousers. Helly Hanson base layer with a bergaus quarter zip. This time of year my seasskin beanie as well.

Dont wear my walking boots though.. Honest..... Although It would be more appropriate on some of the courses at the moment.

Apart from my waterproofs (which I often wear when I'm photographing football) and golf shoes I don't buy any clothes specifically for golf.

I wear polo shirts when playing but would buy them to wear anyway, trousers come from Slaters so not specifically golf trousers - jerseys are all plain, mainly dark blue, grey or black and none were bought as golf wear.

Stopped at the bookies on the way home with black trousers, jacket and a Nike cap. It just felt so wrong, I did'nt even look golfy. So no, golf gear is for the course.

I wear golf 'makes' that could be worn for golf or fashion. I.e. Lyle & Scott polos, or a half zip sweater that I wore to work today. Most of this stuff is actually golf named but Is worn it for fashion, makes like Ralph Lauren, Lindberg, Hugo Boss and so on. I don't wear any golf trousers away from the course, Nike, Ping etc but I do play a lot in chinos which I do wear off the course. If it's a technical type, wicking material then it really is designed to be used for sport so I think shouldn't be worn anywhere else.

Anyone on twitter should follow an account called Full Kit W*nkers, fully grown blokes wearing football kit when they clearly haven't played football since school. Perhaps we should start a Golf Attire T*osers one!

Agreed, I buy clothing for daily wear which is suitable for the golf course, predominantly Hugo Boss Green. You cant beat GG alfs for long walks with the dogs.

I wear most of my gear off course too. I actually look for gear now that I can wear in both areas, like my lyle & Scott jumpers. I wear them at work and on the course. Saves spending a fortune on clothes that only get worn once or twice a week.

I do this with some items, as you say £75 quid to spend on a jumper and im going to wear it more than just for golf! It has to be versatile to cross over. I dont ear suits and ties to work so my wardrobe is all smart casual. Smart only comes out for important occassions and meetings.

I think I look pretty dapper at work in my light blue plus fours, yellow knee socks, 1978 Pringle jumper and red cravat - you don't see many poolside lifeguards dressed like that!

I have never wore golf clothing for anything other than Golf or the driving range... My life pretty much consists of work then the gym Mon/Fri so there isn't really anywhere for golf clothing to be worn.

I remember someone posting a thread on here once saying why do people wear golf clothing to the range? Do they think they are tour pros's?

I mostly wear the same stuff in and out of work (Trousers, Shirt & Jumper) I tend to wear the same on the golf course too, especially in the winter - guess I am just a boring sod with no dress sense!

I do have a few Ping & IJP polo's I wear on the course in the summer, but wouldn't wear them day to day I don't think.

It's entirely your choice though - you should always wear what you feel comfortable in and that's that. Pay no mind to what other people think!!!!

Have to say that I now wear quite a lot of my golf stuff for work. Since I became self employed I no longer need to wear a suit to work and most of the golf stuff is smart casual enough to meet clients and do surveys. Saves buying two lots of clothes
