Inspired by the discussion of the price rise on the Old Course I thought it would be interesting to see how it would cost as a visitor at our home clubs, I didn't even know what a round at my place would cost until I looked it up recently - full summer price (midweek/weekend if different) - you can add a brief description of your course if you'd like.

I'll start:
I play at Monifieth Links, its a links trust rather than a club owned course, we've got two links courses - The Medal which has hosted Open qualifying as well as various national championships and the Ashludie which is a much shorter (5000+ yards) but fun links with tiny greens.

We don't seem to get many visitors which is maybe a good thing seeing how busy the course id for members...

Just looked at our website - Leighton Buzzard Golf Club. Don't know why we do a 9 hole and 18 hole twilight ticket? Always looked at a twilight ticket as a last chance, just play as many holes as you can before dusk.

Course in good nick, although the course is having two major changes carried out.

The 8th hole; used to be a relatively short par 4 down hill. Typically long iron off the tee and a flick with a wedge. Unfortunately many would use a wood, and with houses tight down the left…. Not sure where the new tee is going but they’re moving hundreds of tons of earth and completely changing the fairway. Rough guess, the tee will be 50yds further right, maybe a lot further, and down to a re sculpted fairway with mounding down the left to protect the houses.

The 14th hole; par 4, usually a driver followed by an 8 iron. Houses tight down the right. Again, moving tons of earth, creating mounding down the right. The line off the tee is now a lot further left, away from the houses - looks and plays well.

Hitting a house on the par 5 10th takes some serious skill - they’re way off to the right, almost a shank to hit them, especially off the red tee.
