How much do you pay for your weekly comps and how is the prize money distributed?

The reason I ask that our Club have increased the weekly cost from £2 to £3 which is not a problem for me but last year we used to have 140 each week and today it is down to 110. This may be becuase it is early in the season .

They have promised to increase the prize money and last year it was £60 for the winner plus £30 20 10 ineach category and best gross.

Addditionally there are the 2's £2 and the Pro's raffle £1

Ours is £3 for the main comp
£2 extra for 2s
At this moment in time we are getting about 60 entrants in 3 seperate categories.
This will rise throughout the summer.
Prize money is around 36 quid for the winner, going down to 6th place for your money back a fiver.
I always go in the 2s and have had 2 already this year.
I reckon this is good value.

We pay £2 at our place, and this is split between prize's for our presentation evening and the sweep on the competition day,so every penny is paid out again. At my last club the owners would cream any surplus monies for themselves,as no matter how many played the winnings remained the same.

ours is £3 made up of £2 for the comp. and £1 for the 2's we have over 140 playing each comp but prize money is normally £40 for first,£20 for second and £10 for third, the winter comps are run by the pro and he keeps the money summer comps run by club so goes back into funds.

Ours are £2 for a normal comp with additional £1 if you want to go in the 2's.

Main board comps are £3 - £5 depending on the format etc.

Everything is paid out as prizes.

Ours are all £3 each
I believe breakdown is........
£1 Entry
£1 Sweep
£1 for 2's Sweep

All sweep money paid out
1st 50% ( I was informed when I joined last year )
2nd 30%
3rd 20%

We are a members club within a proprietary club. Players pay their subs to the proprietary club and our sole source of income is from competition fees - £2.50 + £0.50 2s on weekdays, £3.00 + £1.00 2s on weekends.
Around 75% of fees are paid out in prizes and all 2s money is paid out.

Ours is £5 (of which £1 is the 2's money). It's run by the comp committee, and all the monies are used in prizes, and for purchasing medals and engraving etc.

Interesting though is that the money is kept away from the club specifically as income like that would have to be tracked and corporation tax/vat paid on it. The comps committee use the money to top up some prize funds too (so that low turnout events are still given prizes).

Ours has been £2.00 for ever and this year has gone up to £3.00. I don't mind as it is still not expensive. The money you pay is paid in to the first or second class pots and then is split £1 to the sweep money and £1 to the twos. The third pound I believe goes to pay for the overall winners vouchers and hip flasks which are presented at prize giving. We only have 2 par threes and some members don't think they can get a 2 so do not enter that part of the competition. It takes all kinds !!!
