How much do you pay for Fuel??

Changed to diesel near 3 months ago and almost halved my fuel costs straight away, 25mpg to 50mpg. Don't feel so bad about paying just under £1.20 for a litre. Cheaper tax too. Only drawback is the diesel i have is so slow............

unleaded at asda 115.9 per litre less 1p p/l when purchased with my asda credit card.

the clio costs £55 to fill and averages about 460 miles on a tank

my civic costs about £50 to fill and i'm lucky to get 350 from the tank, unless it's all motorway driving.


going to tesco next week, 115.9 p/l less 5p p/l when i use my discout voucher

BP also at 115.9 but only at the forecourt next to asda, texaco opposite is always 2p dearer

Both out cars are diesal so I don't care what the unleaded price is!
We're paying £1.23 at the mo.
What gets my back up is that 10 miles down the road I can get it for £1.19!!! Why? Does it cost an extra 3p per litre to drive a tanker 10 miles?
Surely the transport cost per litre is virtually nothing. If so, cost should be very similar everywhere. We always seem to get lumbered with the highest prices.

Got to the stage where I'm past caring. I would encourage everyone to start protesting again about the price of fuel, blockade the oil refineries, petrol pumps, do what it takes.

That way I might get something called overtime which I used to get!

I remember when petrol was priced in gallons and was 5/- per gallon. (For those not old enough that is 25p/gallon) which equates to 5.48 pence per litre!
I also remember that when I bought my first diesel car diesel was about half the price of petrol although hardly any filling stations sold it. The problem is the Government has seen how many are changing to diesel and have increased the duty accordingly. I also use red diesel and it is now about 50p a litre.

Apparently if there was no fuel tax, petrol/diesel would cost around 41p per litre. Strip out the VAT and it would be 35p/litre

115.9 on Sunday (Tesco Hatfield) but 116.9 at my local Tesco.

I think the £1/litre was the 'watershed' - once we'd got over that we moan but that's about it.

If its any consolation to you boys across the pond.....Us lot here have to pay 1 euro 32 cents per litre for petrol and 1.25 cents for Diesel...

Oh and our road tax is also seperate to this....As an e.g. take my Volvo V70 it costs 173 euro every 3 months to tax

All our lot are short are Balaclava's and Guns Madandra..
They are fleecing us and the worst part is that there is a budget again next month....Watch this space!
