How long do you keep your clubs?

I recently upgraded my irons a few months ago. I had those irons around 4 years and am looking at keeping thsee at least that long. The main reason I changed was because I managed to snap my 7 iron but that was just a good reason to upgrade.

I've had mine for 30 years and never had reason to doubt them. But some days they just don't seem to play well  .

But there is a slight possibility that it could be the duffer that's using them.:smirk:

Currently feeling pretty settled with my set up. Just plan to change my 21* hybrid and 60* wedge for the 2015 season. On saying that, I only planned to get new wedges and was tossing up with the idea of changing my hybrids. Ended up changing my irons, putter, wedges and hybrids.

30 yrs for the slivers of metal Titleist called Pro blades, and 16 years(I think) for my Mizuno T Zoid pro's and they are still shiny....in a good light:cool:

I had the same set of MP52s for 5 years... until I joined this forum and saw all the goodies being sold... think I changed 5 times in 2 years albeit 2 of those were short lived (Brisgestone J36 and an infamous set of TM TPCBs that saw one solotary round).
Love my current irons and can't see any reason to change for a while, forged and forgiving.

Greig, I've been having a nosey at 2nd hand Bridgestone's, some J36’s currently on my watch list but the 40’s do look rather good I have to say. Obviously you didn't get on with the J36's, any reasoning as to why?

Ive only had my current set of JPX 800 HD's for 18 months but am getting a really strong itch that definitely wants scratching!! I hope the Bluewolf bug isn't starting to kick in!

It was the J36 Cavity Backs and they were just too much club for me at the time. My ball striking simply wasnt up to standard for them, anything not out of the centre went nowhere and I was at risk of vibration white finger :D

Its not a bug mate, its boredom and eBay mixed together... ;)

Oh, and if you want a tip, look out for some Orka Rs3 or Rs5's.. They were the irons I wish I hadn't got rid of...

I try and stick with a set of irons for 5-6 years, and to be fair the nike pro combos I currently have are quite simply the best set of irons I've ever had, easy to hit and absolutely gorgeousl. However there is new golf "tart" on the horizon soon in the form of nike vapor blade and pro combos. OMG, I'm so seriously tempted 😉

The ironic thing with your purchase stats is that you've only played 4 rounds in 2 years with those 5 sets :D

Was chatting to the third tinker man (Garyinderry) and whilst mizuno's were high on his list, I can't stop thinking about the Wilson FG tour V2's. Dunno why. The itch.......

Wouldn't be too far out with that assessment mate... Next year is gonna be my Cat 1 year though..;)

Must be at least a few days since you've bought a set of irons, treat yourself

Cheeky boy.. It's been a few weeks.. I did buy 2 putters last week though... I seriously need to think about getting some professional help..
