How long do you keep a ball?

19 full, consecutive rounds with a pro v 1. Tatty as hell by the end but still performing to a reasonable level. This was a bet on the first day of the winter season!

Are old balls the same as provisionals. Put one on the first tee and it'll go where you want it. Unpack a new Pro V and its a one hit wonder. Maybe that's just me again

In a bounce game I'll use almost anything and use it until I lose it - so not for long today! Should I keep it long enough to wear it out it goes in the pencil bag for use around the short course.
In a Comp it will either be a new ball or a very good pickup.
I have 3 dozen new Tour balls ready to use but keep finding nearly new ProVs in the long rough....!
Could be a month or two before I need to open a new box!

think the best I have ever done is 2 rounds normally can lose at least one a round

In all seriousness I have had one ball do 2 rounds before I lost it and it was still playing fine. I think it all depends what you expect from the ball.

Usually only change when I lose a ball. Occasionally I'll change one out if I don't like the feel off the putter.

Never really thought about it change it when needed. Mind I am known to put new balls in the practice bag. If I don't like the feel or look of them.
I was given a full box of pd long distance balls, they went straight into the practice bag!
