How does your Club 'finance' their Club Teams?

How much to enter Comps & how much remains in the prize-pot?
At ours, it's £5 a man which includes 2's (pays £10 a two) with a 28% rake-off for Trophy engraving/replacing & team food for several teams
Entry fees are £4 or £5; 20% rake — covers comps software [20% of the total cost of IG], hardware & consumables; engraving & boards; additional prizes; external entry fees; up to £50 bar credits for holes-in-one [made in contributing comps only]; and a few small subsidies.
Optional £1 twos sweep is separate; pot distributed among all players returning twos; rolls-over to the next comp on the same day of the week if no twos.

As far as I am aware these days the club does not contribute except I do not know if County charge for all events but we are invited to submit players for at least 2 events and if there is a fee the club pays those.

There was a time when the club put something towards the scratch team fixtures.

On the topic of clothing I remember first game for the scratch team maybe 20 year ago I was drafted in for a late pull out and had to wear this glenmuir windbreaker half sleeve thing, about 2 sizes to big it was honestly like swinging with a bin bag on. At a course called windyhill which funnily enough blew about 100mph.

Got beat 6&5 and never got picked again for about a year. Never bought anything from glenmuir since.

I play in our B team and we pay around £15 for a home game which includes breakfast before and sandwiches and chips after which i think is good value, the away games are very similar. We buy our own team shirts they were ping ones and they cost us £25 each i think, again i thought that was quite sensible
Im not sure how our A team works

All I know about it, is we chip, LOL, coz it's always bluddy chips which I can't have, for the food. And that's it. Oh and home team buys the beers afterwards. I asked for a shirt last year, but our pro is useless, so no idea if it came, or even if I have to buy it. Club pays entry fees for teams. Dunno how much this is. Again. Useless. We won the league last year, so are due some dosh. I asked if that goes back to the club. Nope. The players get it. So, the thing is, get yourselves of the damn teams. Your club may be paying out for them.

at Nairn the club paid for the food and travel expenses if you were picked, but there was one bone of contention, if you were picked for the scratch team you got a shirt and jumper and a long sleeve zip up top. if you were playing the handicap you had to pay for it. which wasn't fair in the slightest. TBH honest everyone should have paid. when i was picked twice for the seniors scratch team for the Northern counties i offered to pay but was told i couldn't
