How do you shoot 45+ points...

i'm proof it can happen

i had a nightmare last year, barely got over 30 points in comps and then done my knee ligaments in July.

haven't picked up a club since, have had three trips to the range in last two weeks, first round yesterday and ended up with 42 points (including a blob and five 3 putts)

lucky it was only a friendly or no doubt questions would have been asked !

It can happen. We had a 25 handicapper shooting nett 62 (-8 or 44 points equivalent) in a medal on Sunday so everyone can come good. It is the guys that someone else mentioned rock up off 6-12 as soon as the big events are on, shoot level par, disappear in a trail of exhaust fumes not to be seen until prize giving that hack me off.

I have to be honest it is the one thing that concerns me about things like the Volvo matchplay and getting drawn against these sort of guys with a handicap kept artificially high. Nothing you can do as technically it is correct but you know within two or three holes you've come across one and it can be a long day. Mind you the joy in beating these sort of guys is immense and even better if they have to endure buying a drink too and being asked by other members how they got on. I love it

I shot 47 points last season, thought I'd come second to 48 points only to find out on Sunday that I hadn't signed my card. Never been anywhere near since. 39 has been my best over the winter season.

I had a cracking round in a society day with 38 points in pouring rain and high wind - thought I had a chance to win.

Last group came in and a 16 year old lad (son of one the guys at work) had 44!!! If you had seen the weather on the day this was a truly awesome score.

Next best after me was 34.
